Project HELP (Healing, Education, Life Skills, Parenting) teamed up with The Wellspring to bring the "Care*ageous Kids" program to Lenwil and Riser Elementary Schools this fall and Riverbend later in the school year.

"Healthy Relationships must be taught early," said Jana Hutzler, program director for Project HELP, a grant funded by the Living Well Foundation to First West Counseling Center.
"By the time students leave elementary school, communication styles, for better or worse, are well on their way to being defined," Hutzler said.

Shaina Frost, certified LaFASA "Care*ageous Kids" trainer added, "The program teaches 9-10 year olds about the importance of making and keeping healthy friendships, appropriate boundaries, and standing up for others."
