The Marjorie Stricklin Emerging Artists Competition will be held all day Saturday, Jan. 15, at the Biedenharn Recital Hall on the ULM campus.

To participate a person must be a resident of the state of Louisiana or enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary institution in Louisiana. Entrance is open in one of two age groups: Youth - 12 years old to high school graduation, or Young Adult - college freshman to age 30. For each age group, the competition will take place in four performance categories: Piano; Strings; Vocal; and Winds, Brass, Percussion.

The preliminary round takes place throughout the morning and afternoon. A winner from each performance category is eligible to be chosen by a panel of experts for recognition in each age category. Each preliminary round winner will be awarded a cash prize of $100.
