Retired Judge William "Bill" Norris will officially take office next week as the District A representative on the Ouachita Parish School Board.

Norris was elected to the School Board in the October 2010 elections when he defeated Dr. Jeff Counts.

Norris' first School Board meeting will be Tuesday, Jan. 11. He will take the seat formerly held by Jack White, who declined to seek another term following years of service to Ouachita Parish Schools.
