Although fewer than 1,000 local sports fans were in attendance to witness it on Sunday, one of the greatest players to ever play the game of basketball was at the University of Louisiana-Monroe coaching the Florida International Golden Panthers to a win over the ULM Warhawks.

Isiah Thomas, named by ESPN as one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history, roamed the sidelines of Fant-Ewing Coliseum for the first and potentially last time on Sunday.

No one is certain how long the man who lead Bob Knight's Indiana Hoosiers to a NCAA national championship before leading the Detroit Pistons to back-to-back titles in 1989-90 will stay as a coach in the Sun Belt Conference.
