Dianne Cage: New year, traditional recipes "Auld Lang Syne" — "Should old acquaintances be forgot, la la la!" This very old Scottish Folk Song was written in 1788 by Robert Burns and is sung, at the stroke of midnight, in almost every English speaking country in the world to bring in the New Year. Happy New Year! ***************************
I think this was my most favorite Christmas of all! From the weather to the beautiful fall leaves, I don't remember the brilliant orange, yellow and red leaves staying on the trees this late. It was really pretty and I enjoyed it! We had all of our family close by and it was a treat to be with all. We also enjoyed the Christmas decorations around town. One was prettier then the next. I hope many of you drove down Park Avenue. JOHN PARKS and his wife DR. ADRIENNE WILLIAMS outdid themselves. Their live oak tree was just outstanding. I just might have to copy them next year, it was truly beautiful. By the way John Parks is one of my favorite friends! ***************************For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition!
