Representatives with the Ouachita Parish Police Jury plan on coordinating with the Ouachita Parish school system about applying for grant funding next year to improve sidewalk access to three schools.

Applications for the safe routes to school program will start next month, and run through March.

Police Juror Pat Moore requested that the Police Jury team up once again with Ouachita Parish Schools to secure federal funding for sidewalks at Shady Grove, Riser and Jack Hayes elementary schools.
