Waking up on Christmas morning used to be, and continues to be, a great anticipated affair for me as it is for many youngsters around the world. It was the day we could find gifts left for us from Santa, our family, and our friends. It was a day we were in a very gracious, giving and receiving mood.
This festive time of year brought out the best in most people. Families seem to become closer and willing to share with each other more so than any other time of the year. Not many of us take the time to realize that we have programmed ourselves to become more friendly, more giving, more gracious, and more loving because this is the time of year to do this.
So many times we have found in our society that Christmas has become Xmas — we have pushed Christ right out of His birthday. So many of our young people of today will not get the true meaning of Christmas unless it is taught at home, and this is the place it should be taught. We have allowed our naysayers, atheists, and others to push Christianity out of our schools, businesses, and in many cases our churches.
