Turkey Federation donates $500k

The National Wild Turkey Federation has partnered with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office to build a state-of-the-art, solar-powered sporting clay course at the sheriff office's shooting and archery facility in western Ouachita Parish.

Through a $50,000 donation from the Louisiana State NWTF Chapter, the shooting and archery facility will offer youth, women and hunters with disabilities more opportunities to learn the safe, ethical and responsible aspects of shooting sports, according to Joe Walter, president of the Louisiana State Chapter of the NWTF.

"We are extremely proud to be partnering with Sherriff Royce Toney and his office," Walter said. "This is going to be an amazing shooting facility that will create a lot of new shooters and hunters - the people who form the frontline of America's conservation efforts."
