Wellspring updates PJ on Family Justice Center

The Wellspring, which oversees the Family Justice Center, has agreed to give the Ouachita Parish Police Jury monthly reports concerning Family Justice Center's operations.

Judy Bell, president of the Wellspring, provided the Police Jury with The Wellspring's first update on the Family Justice Center's operations at the Police Jury's Dec. 6 meeting.

"I want to begin a series of regular reports to you all to keep you abreast of the work that's being done in this unique partnership with the judicial system and other service providers in the area of domestic violence," Bell said. "The Family Justice Center has really put Ouachita Parish on the forefront of a national movement to permanently reduce the incidents and the impact of domestic violence on some of our most vulnerable families in our community."
