|Dianne Cage: Jingle Bells and Grace Episcopal|
"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way! O what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh!" Are we all decorated and having fun, cooking, shopping, opening Christmas Cards, wrapping presents and working hard to remember why we are celebrating?
Years ago, when I was a little girl, I remember my family gathered around the little black and white television and watched the "Bing Crosby Christmas Special." He closed his perfect show with "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" and a message about the birth of JESUS CHRIST. I can still see and hear that amazing voice tell the story of the impact, on this world, of the coming of this Child! I don't remember word for word but I will never forget the feeling I had, as a child. This, experience, changed the way I felt about Christmas. I realized, this glorious season was not about Santa Claus but all about the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I still love Santa Claus, though!
