OPPJ considers gauge work

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury later this month will consider a project that would recalibrate water gauges parish-wide.

Police Jury Vice President Walt Caldwell asked the parish public works department Monday to present a proposal to the Police Jury at its Dec. 20 meeting that would identify the cost of tackling the project.

"For years, there has been a difference between the Corp of Engineers' calculations and our calculations," Caldwell said. "There is this differential, and we'd like to have the gauges redone so we don't have this differential."
