ULM, non-profits ink deal to aid future teachers

The University of Louisiana-Monroe on Tuesday partnered with four local non-profit agencies to help them provide additional leadership and service learning opportunities for teacher candidates.

ULM officials, on behalf of the College of Education and Human Development, signed an agreement with the four local non-profit groups, which included The Wellspring Alliance for Families, Northeast Louisiana United Way, YMCA of Northeast Louisiana and Children's Coalition of Northeast Louisiana.

The agreement will allow boards of representatives with each of the non-profit groups to participate in the "Professional and Community Service Learning" program in order to mentor teacher education candidates.
