The Ouachita Christian School Eagles (11-3) will be playing in the Class 1A football state championship game Saturday for the first time since 2000, following a 27-13 victory over the South Plaquemines Hurricanes last Friday.

OCS is the first team from Class 1A to ever beat the Hurricanes on their home field.
The school opened in 2006 following the consolidation of three schools in Plaquemines Parish in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

The Eagles lead 14-0 in the first quarter before an interception by quarterback Paul Michael Garner set up the Hurricanes for their first score on a 10-yard pass from quarterback Bradley Sylve to Joseph Gibson.
