Lions fall vs. Purple Knights

The Ouachita Lions (10-2) saw their season come to an end last week as the St. Augustine Purple Knights (9-2) defeated the Lions, 27-21.

Ouachita lead almost the entire contest before Purple Knights quarterback Terry Lucas threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Lorenzo Doss with 19-seconds remaining to push St. Augustine into the quarterfinal round of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 5A playoffs.

"Our kids played their hearts out," Ouachita head coach John Carr said. "You know it is going to come down to a handful of plays. They made the plays and got the calls when we didn't. I was proud of our team for the way they kept fighting."
