An event will be held Friday to assist people or families who are homeless.

It will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Church of Christ on Jackson Street.
The event, called Operation Stand Down, will be held to provide homeless people with food, clothing, health screenings and free haircuts. There also will be opportunities to get signed up for benefits, employment assistance, housing programs, and other services they may be eligible for.

The event is for anyone who is homeless in northeast Louisiana, whether singles, families, adults and children, veterans and non-veterans.
