Lions draw 1-5A rematch
The No. 7 Ouachita Lions (9-1) will host the No. 26 Byrd Yellow Jackets (6-4) in the first round of the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 5A playoffs this Friday.
Ouachita will be playing Byrd for the second time in a month and the fifth time in the past three years. Ouachita thrashed Byrd 34-7 in their previous meeting at Lee Hedges Stadium in Shreveport on Oct. 15.
The game followed the Lions' only loss of the season, 45-13, to West Monroe, and it was sparked by a focused Ouachita team that took care of business early.
