Dianne Cage: 'Granny's Adventures' & party time OK, sit down! I am going to tell you the whole story! "I swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help me!" Several Saturdays ago, it was a beautiful day and the Celtic Festival was being held at the Forsythe Park. What a fun thing to do, lets bathe and brush our beautiful dog Ruby and walk down to the park and enjoy a fun outing.
Ruby is a West Monroe shelter dog, we think half Springer Spaniel and half Austrian Shepherd. She has wavy liver color hair with golden streaks woven in. Her tail is mostly golden and the way she carries it, she looks like a circus pony. When she smiles at you with those emerald green eyes you will fall in love. Ruby Mae is named after my Grandmother, Ruby Baker, from West Monroe and my Mama Ella Mae King. She is one of the smartest, gentlest, dogs we have ever had, believe me, we have had some good ones! We are real proud of her!
We arrived about 1:30 p.m. what a fun festival. There were many people, lots of dogs, great music, everywhere, good food, cold beer. Fun and fun visiting with old friends and new ones. There is this little black dog "Bower" that lives in the Garden District and he is street smart. Bower is everywhere, I guess you would say he is the self appointed "King of the Garden District." Everyone knows Bower. He is a little, mixed, Rat Terrier maybe weight 10 pounds and is old. He has white all around his mouth, not many teeth. You get the picture! Everyone loves Bower! .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition!
