Ghouls, goblins, witches, vampires, superheroes, princesses and the sort are encouraged to trick or treat Saturday, Oct. 30, since Halloween falls on Sunday this year.

West Monroe Mayor Dave Norris, Sterlington Mayor Vern Breland and Ouachita Parish Police Jury President Shane Smiley all agreed that trick or treating should take place Saturday this year.

However, city of Monroe spokesman Rod Washington said Monroe police will be expecting trick-or-treaters on both Saturday and Sunday nights.
