When thinking about elite high school quarterbacks in a given year, one doesn't always name a local sophomore as being one of those.

But that is not the case in Ouachita Parish where Neville sophomore signal caller John Diarse has risen into the spotlight with dazzling runs, catches and proficient throws throughout his short time on the Tigers varsity squad.

Unlike most freshmen at local high schools, Diarse was so impressive coming out of Lee Junior High that the Neville coaching staff felt it needed to look at ways to get him on the field as a freshman despite senior Taylor Burch, now at Louisiana Tech University, already having the quarterback spot nailed down when Diarse arrived on campus.
