ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston will celebrate the grand opening of its new sweet potato processing plant in northeastern Louisiana with "Get Sweet. Our Treat" in Monroe on Nov. 3.

Participating restaurants in the greater-Monroe area will distribute free servings of sweet potato fries as part of the celebration.

In partnership with the Food Bank of Northeast Louisiana, Lamb Weston will make a donation of 10 cents for every serving of fries given away, as well as $1 for every person who joins the "I Love Sweet Potato Fries" Facebook fan page before Nov. 3. The maximum donation could be as much as $10,000.

"'Get Sweet. Our Treat' marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for Lamb Weston. We are overjoyed to open the Delhi plant and build even stronger relationships with our sweet potato growers from this region of the country, along with the many restaurants and retailers we do business with in northeastern Louisiana," said Helene Clark, director of marketing for ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston.
