Science ... and God

Last week we looked at the statement by the Apostle Paul, "God…made of one blood all the nations of men to dwell on all the face of the earth." (Acts 17:17-26)
Someone has suggested that some translations of the Bible don't say "blood" but "man."  No problem. The conclusion is the same.  And the final question is the same! 

The scene in Acts 17 is impressive.  Paul is in Athens, Greece.  He is standing on a place know as Mars Hill.  (Now very famous – with a huge bronze plaque of Paul's entire sermon. 

I know this is so because I have stood there and seen it.)  He (Paul) is speaking to an assembly of philosophers who were very religious…very superstitious…and quite ignorant of the one true God.  Athens was the capital of the state of Attica, Greece…and these people were even worse than some about the uniqueness and importance of their state.  They believed that they had actually sprung from the earth of Attica.
