Raffle sale under way to benefit WM band director
A raffle sale will be held Sunday at Kiroli Park to help West Monroe High School band director Robbie Freeman with medical expenses associated with a kidney transplant.
Diane Guillot, a family friend, said Freeman first needs to have gastric bypass surgery in order to lose weight quickly enough to be placed on a donor list for a new kidney.
Though the surgery is considered a life or death matter, she said Freeman's health insurance coverage will not pay for the gastric bypass operation.
