Fundraiser coming up
Area steak grill masters are invited to compete in the Monroe Jaycees' premiere Kingsland Ranch Steak Challenge, a charity fund-raising cooking contest set for Oct. 23 at the Ike Hamilton Exposition Center in West Monroe.
The Jaycees will also host the 1-5-10K Triple Play Run that morning at West Monroe's Restoration Park near the Ike.
Melinda Robinson, a vice president with the Monroe Jaycees, said they are sponsoring the two events to support local youth programs at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Louisiana and the Jaycees' many local projects including their annual Christmas Shopping Tour.
