Fire Week continues
The Monroe Fire Department is participating in the 2010 National Fire Prevention Week, which is held each year from Sunday Oct. 3, through Saturday, Oct. 9.
This week is observed across the United Sates by all participating fire departments as an effort to decrease fire damage and deaths associated with fire-related events.
The theme for 2010 is "Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With."
