Chiefs battle Wildcats
The West Ouachita Chiefs (1-4) will begin district play with a local flavor this week as they host the Wossman Wildcats (3-2) at "Red" Sims Stadium on Friday.
The Chiefs are coming off a 34-28 loss at Tioga High School in Alexandria last week for their fourth defeat of the season.
The Chiefs hope to gain new life this week with the beginning of district play in what many coaches refer to as the "second season". A few key wins down the stretch in district play could erase the Chiefs' misfortunes of the early part of the schedule and vault them into the Louisiana High School Athletic Association Class 4A playoffs this season.
