Five-year-old Jackson Mock has much in common with his favorite superhero, Batman.
Like the "Caped Crusader," Jackson, of West Monroe, has experienced a great deal of adversity in his short life, but he's emerged from it with strength of character befitting any hero.

Jackson was diagnosed with leukemia last May. While he turned 5 years old earlier this month, he has already faced challenges many people will never know.

Blood transfusions that span four hours at a time, 11 daily medications and numerous trips to Shreveport and St. Jude's Children Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., are routine for him.
