Green Oaks property tax on Saturday ballot Parish voters will decide the fate of a property tax renewal proposition for Green Oaks Detention Center in Saturday's election.
The five-year, 2.91-mill tax pays for operating Green Oaks, a detention center for youth. Green Oaks director Mike Rhodes said the center has been able to maintain its operations with the property tax parish voters passed in 2006. He believes the center will be able to operate smoothly for another five years with the same 2.91-mill tax.
