Martha Jane Anderson: Luncheon, books and guidance

Invitations are in the mail for the bridesmaids luncheon honoring the beautiful Jennifer Ensminger on Friday, Oct. 8, at the Restaurant SAGE. Grandmother Carol Ledoux is hosting the affair. The invitations truly set the tone as they are water colored white pumpkins on a fall green and white card with ivy and oak leaves completing the painting. We are so proud of Jennifer as she has a degree in architecture as well as a good job.

In the summer, Jerry pitched for the Alpine Cowboys. A left hander, Jerry, struck out 21 batters and allowed only four hits and one walk to win a big game. Jerry Wolff won the award for the  best pitcher in the summer league, which was  hosted by a wealthy Alpine cattle rancher. Jerry received this honor over Hall of Famer, Gaylord Perry, who later pitched 314 winning games and spent 22 years as a successful major leaguer. He was Jerry's roommate that special summer.
