Manning awarded coveted Crystal Gavel honor

Fourth Judicial District Court Judge Wendell Manning was recently awarded the Louisiana State Bar Association's Crystal Gavel Award for his many years of service educating students about legal matters, volunteering with the American Red Cross and working with the court system to make it more hospitable for victims of crime.

Manning was presented the Crystal Gavel Award late last week. He was nominated for the award by officials with the northeast Louisiana chapter of the American Red Cross.

Each year, the Louisiana State Bar Association selects one or two people in the state to be honored with the Crystal Gavel Award.
