Charles Heck Jr. says his experience in a variety of different courtrooms on the federal and state level would be a benefit if he's elected judge in the Oct. 2 Monroe City Court race.

Heck, a Republican, faces fellow Monroe attorneys Laurie Burkett, no party, and Jeff Joyce, no party, in Saturday's election for the Division B seat on the Monroe City Court bench.

Heck decided to run for city court judge because he wants to give back to his community just like other members of his family have done over the years.
