Laurie Burkett says people in Monroe are ready for change at Monroe City Court, and she believes she is the right person to implement it.

Burkett, no party, faces fellow Monroe attorneys Charles Heck Jr., Republican, and Jeff Joyce, no party, in the Saturday, Oct. 2, for the Division B seat on the Monroe City Court bench.

If a runoff is needed, it would be held on Nov. 2.
