Fletcher enters insanity plea

The West Ouachita teen who was indicted last week on two counts of second-degree murder in the shooting deaths of his parents entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity Wednesday during an arraignment hearing in Fourth Judicial District Court in Monroe.

Dalton Fletcher, 15, said nothing during court proceedings. His attorney Charles Kincade entered his plea for him.

Kincade also filed a motion requesting a bond reduction for Fletcher. Fourth Judicial District Court Judge Danny Ellender did not rule on it.

Ellender scheduled Fletcher's next hearing date for Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Ouachita Parish Courthouse.
