OPPJ sets property tax millages

The Ouachita Parish Police Jury approved its 2010 revenue ordinance Monday in order for the parish to begin the annual levying of property taxes.

Action was taken during the police jury's regular meeting.

The police jury agreed to keep millage rates the same in 2010 as they were in 2009.

The only difference was the millage rate for Green Oaks Detention Center was slightly reduced compared to what was levied last year.
