Safety event Saturday The Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force, Target, the Monroe Fire Department, and the Louisiana State Police are sponsoring a free child safety seat check-up event at the Monroe Target store (off I-20 and Millhaven Rd), on Saturday, September 25, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m.
Experts say roughly three out of four child seats are not used correctly. This misuse rate can be attributed to the great variety of child seats available, the range of children's weights and heights, and the array of vehicles in today's market. These misuses span all races, educational levels and socioeconomic statuses.
The event is being done here and all over the nation as part of "National Seat Check Saturday." Caregivers will be provided with first-hand information by a nationally certified child passenger safety technician regarding the proper installation of their child's safety seat. In addition, caregivers will also be provided with life-saving information as to what child safety seat should be utilized with the appropriate age, weight and height limits. .....For the full story, subscribe to the The Ouachita Citizen's NEW E-Edition! |
