Lowery's campaign centers on unity

Sterlington mayoral candidate Dale Lowery has been a resident of the town for 53 years, and he's seen a great deal of growth take place in Sterlington over the past five decades.
Lately, though, he said the town is growing apart.

That's one of the reasons he entered the Sterlington mayor's race. He'll face incumbent Mayor Vern Breland in the Oct. 2 election.

For about a year, people have approached Lowery to ask him to consider running for mayor, he said.
