Event honors missing, fallen soldiers

A ceremony recognizing POWs and soldiers MIA will be at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17 in downtown West Monroe at the corner of Woods and Trenton streets.

The event is sponsored by Hutson-Leehy Post 3993 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.

Other sponsors include the WMHS Air Force Jr. ROTC; WOHS Navy Jr. ROTC; OPHS Navy Jr. ROTC; Northeast Louisiana Veterans Association; American Legion Posts 201, 13, 99 and 521; Disabled American Veterans Chapter 8 of West Monroe; Military Order Purple Heart Chapter 331 of West Monroe; and American Veterans Post 66 of Monroe.
