West Ouachita victory triumph in more ways than one
If there's one thing West Ouachita High School Chiefs head coach Joey Pender knows about his players, it's their character.

The Chiefs took to their new field last Friday following a tragic turn of events earlier that day where one student committed suicide and another was arrested in the shooting deaths of his parents.

The school was on lock-down much of Friday morning, and classes were later cancelled.
When Winnfield broke out with a 21-point lead in the first quarter, Pender said his team had every opportunity to give up, but the players refused, and battled on.
