Lions hope to turn extra day into pay dirt

The Ouachita Lions (2-0) will hit the gridiron once again on Friday night when they visit the Ruston Bearcats at James Stadium in Ruston.

Ouachita has had an extra day to prepare for the contest, defeating the Rayville Hornets 36-0 last Thursday. It marked the second consecutive victory over a ranked playoff contender in as many weeks after the season opening 28-21 victory over defending Class 4A champions Neville.

The Lions have been paced by junior quarterback Quentin Wheeler, who has gotten the job done as a vocal and statistical leader of the Lions.
