OPSB adopts $211M budget

The Ouachita Parish School Board adopted a $211.9 million budget for the 2010-11 fiscal year during the school board's regular meeting Tuesday.

The school board's fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30 of each year. By law, the school board must approve its new fiscal year budget by Sept. 15 of each year.

According to school board business manager Richard Garrett, the 2009-10 fiscal year was "pretty much a routine year as far as operating the schools."
