The Leadership Council and Monroe Chamber of Commerce are accepting nominations for the 19th Annual James M. Shipp, Jr. Memorial Young Business Leader Award.

Jim Shipp was the general manager for IMC in Sterlington who was tragically killed during the plant explosion in 1991.

Shipp was a Monroe Chamber of Commerce Board member and a leader in the community.
"We honor his life of leadership through the recipients of this prestigious award. The award recognizes his vision for outstanding community leadership," said Monroe Chamber president Sue Nicholson.
