Ridgedale residents want concessions

Residents who live near the former Ridgedale Academy in West Monroe are looking to gather more opposition to the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office's plans to turn part of the facility into a home for its work-release program.

The sheriff's office recently bought the former Ridgedale Academy and the 14 acres it sits on for roughly $190,000.

The sheriff's office also plans to move a majority of its operations to the facility. Those operations would include its entire patrol division, the S.C.A.T team and I.C.E. team as well as warrants officers.
