Official disputes complaint over service

The Wellspring, which oversees operations at Family Justice Center, rarely receives complaints from domestic violence victims for treatment victims receive at the center, but if a complaint arises, the organization takes it very seriously.

That's according to Judy Bell, president of The Wellspring, who spoke with The Ouachita Citizen this week. Bell spoke out in light of a news report The Ouachita Citizen published in its Aug. 26 edition that detailed concerns one area resident had with how a friend was treated recently at Family Justice Center. Family Justice Center, located in Monroe, is a one-stop service center for free, confidential services for Ouachita Parish residents who are victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking.

Carl Wilson, who lives in Union Parish but works in Ouachita Parish, recently spoke to the Ouachita Parish Police Jury about an incident at Family Justice Center.
