Dog owners from across the United States will converge on the Monroe Civic Center this weekend for the 38th annual Cotton Land Cluster of Dog Shows.

The event is expected to bring more than 2,000 people to Ouachita Parish from 38 states, Costa Rico, Canada and Mexico. It also is expected to provide a $2-million economic impact for the Monroe region.

Pat Booker, a member of Bayou Kennel Dog Club of Ouachita Parish, which has conducted the show since 1972, said the group expects up to 1,200 dogs will participate in this year's show.
