U.S. Secretary of Education tours Monroe school

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan joined several members of J.S. Clark Magnet School in Monroe late last week to personally review efforts the school is taking to improve student health.

He was joined by state Superintendent Paul Pastorek, Board of Elementary and Secondary Education President Keith Guice as well as Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo and members of the Monroe City School Board.

J.S. Clark principal Christie Taylor called Duncan's visit last Thursday one of the most exciting things to happen at the school in some time.
