River Oaks beats champions

The River Oaks Mustangs (2-0) will be hitting the road for the second time this season on Friday when they visit Porter's Chapel School. The Mustangs are coming off a thrilling 27-24 upset of No.1 ranked Washington Academy out of Mississippi.

Washington, the defending MAIS 3A champions, lost for the first time in many months to a River Oaks squad that was focused on picking up another signature victory.

"In the first half we came out and played hard," River Oaks head coach Robert Hannah said. "They were focused and showed great effort against a very good Washington team."
