The West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors unanimously agreed to support the upcoming millage renewal for the G. B. Cooley Hospital Service District.
Parish voters will decide the matter in the Oct. 2 election. Voters will be asked to renew a 10-year 1.43 mills property tax for G.B. Cooley Hospital Service District.

G. B. Cooley is a Hospital Service District legally formed in 1961. The facility is an independent entity which is not part of the operations of the parish government, but is directed by a board of commissioners appointed by the Ouachita Parish Police Jury.

Chamber president Mary Ann Newton said G.B. Cooley CEO Ben Pitts visited with the chamber board recently to discuss the upcoming millage renewal.
