Residents await notices about flood maps
Ouachita Parish Police Jury staff plan to send out letters this week to parish residents affected by the changes in FEMA's flood maps.
During the police jury's Aug. 2 meeting, jurors approved spending up to $500 from the police jury's general fund to mail roughly 1,000 notices to residents affected by the new FEMA flood maps.
However, during Monday's regular police jury meeting, jurors learned those notices had not been mailed.
