River Oaks begins season
The River Oaks Mustangs get a jump on the other area schools as the MAIS regular season begins this Friday night at 7 p.m. River Oaks will be traveling to Rayville to battle Riverdale Academy.
River Oaks is coming off another strong offensive showing in the jamboree last week where the team faced Adams County Christian School and Madison-Rankin Academy.
"We moved the ball well but had some penalties that we have to correct," River Oaks head coach Robert Hannah said. "I think on defense we have a lot of work to do. We let MRA out on some long gains. There is room for improvement there."
Hannah said he is not too worried about the offensive penalties at this early stage in the season.
