Fusion softball claims championship
The Louisiana Fusion U8 softball team traveled to Round Rock, Texas, last week and captured the USSA 7-8 year old national championship.
The events began with an opening ceremony held at the Dell Diamond, home of Round Rock Express, a Triple A-Affiliate of the Houston Astros. Each team was introduced and paraded around the stadium to the cheers of family and friends.
Pool Play was set to begin on Wednesday morning but the team got a day off because rain forced the opening round to be pushed up to Thursday morning.
