Football camps heat up
As temperatures across the area continue to rise, so too do the sounds of whistles and helmets smacking together in the August heat.
This week begins the start of football practice for the area Louisiana High School Athletic Association teams. River Oaks of the MAIS began their preseason camp two weeks ago.
With temperatures rising well above 100 degrees each day, coaches are taking extra steps to ensure players" physical needs are met by the coaching staff.
